Elna wrote down this recipe of Ama’s, it is the dish that uses all the left over ingredients from the food we had on 1st day of the new year.



Ingredients:
Garlic, chopped
Chicken Stock (or any good stock you have left over from steam boat)
Meat from dishes left over, fish maw from steam boat, fish cake etc, need to shred meat pieces
Left over mee suah noodles
Potato Starch (cannot use corn starch as it will turn watery when cool)
Toufu
Fresh chinese lettuce, cut into small pieces
Cooking Oil
Fried seaweed & fried shallots for garnishing

Directions:
1.       Heat oil in kuali, fry garlic till fragrant, add meat and other ingredients left over from previous day and stir fry a little.
2.       Add the stock and left over mee suah.
3.       Bring to boil and add toufu.
4.       Mix potato starch with cold tap water.
5.       Add potato starch into boiling cha hoon and stir to mix well, continue to bring to boil and add in the lettuce. 

6.       Add salt to taste and stir in some fried shallots.

7.       Serve hot and garnish with seaweed and fried shallots.
