I found these and just HAD to post them. While they're presented on Better Homes and Gardens as a great Valentine's Day idea, I think these little cuties would be perfect at a bridal shower, or at a wedding as favors or in a candy buffet.  Besides being fricken adorable all by themselves, BH&G also suggests using them as nontraditional fortune cookies. Very cool. All you need to make these meringue cones are sugar cones, meringue cookies (which you can either purchase or make yourself), chocolate chips, and pretty paper and nonpareils for the secret message…making these a treat your budget will find tasty as well.

Print love fortunes on pretty paper and cut them into strips. Roll the note and tuck in the bottom of a cone. For an additional surprise, sprinkle a few colorful nonpareils inside the cone on top of the note. Using a pastry brush, coat the bottoms of two meringue cookies with melted chocolate chips and stick them together.

Coat the top inside of the sugar cone with melted chocolate, then set the meringue cookie "scoop" on top. Let the chocolate set before giving or eating.
Now all I need is an excuse to make these…I'm sure it won't take a very good one. :)   If anyone else tackles these cones, please let us know how they turned out!
