Truly Great Chocolate Cake


  • 300gms dark chocolate
  • 180g unsalted butter
  • 180g caster sugar
  • 3 rounded tablespoons plain flour
  • 3 eggs


  1. Melt chocolate, butter and sugar in double boiler on gentle heat, stir till smooth.
  2. Add flour and blend.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Pour into lined 25cm cake tin
  5. Bake in preheated 200C oven for 10 mins.
  6. Bake further 30 mins at 150C.
  7. Cool and dust with icing sugar to serve.
