Macaroni Cheese

mysy was always helping Mum in the kitchen when we were little and she used to be able to serve us this all by herself for lunches! It was her specialty, right?

Ingredients
250g macaroni
2 onions, chopped
200g ham or bacon, chopped
2 tins Campbell's Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup, 420g each (not the type that is just pour and heat)
250g grated cheddar cheese
some butter

Directions
Boil pasta until just cooked or a little under cooked, drain and set aside.
Preheat the oven to 180C.
In a large saucepan over medium heat, fry the onions in butter, add the ham or bacon to fry until cooked.
Add in the pasta then turn off the heat and mix in the mushroom soup.
Transfer into a baking dish, sprinkle with cheese and bake in the oven for 20 mins till the cheese melts and browns.

NB I don't normally add salt as the bacon and soup are salty but you may like to.
As well as that you can melt the cheese in the microwave instead of the oven but it won't brown that way.
We've tried other condensed soups but I like this one best.
